How to Honeymoon on a Budget

These days many couples pay for their own weddings.  For people on a budget, throwing the wedding of their dreams leaves little money left over for a honeymoon. With some imaginative planning and maybe one or two small sacrifices you can still have a memorable dream honeymoon.
Consider going somewhere within driving distance. Sure, jetting off to Mexico sounds wonderful, but think of all the fun you can have with the money you’ll save on plane tickets. Pretty much every state has beautiful sights to visit. By driving, you may be able to visit more than one locale on your honeymoon.
Or, register for your honeymoon as a wedding gift.  Honeymoon registries have become popular to help offset the cost of the trip. This is a great option if you’ve maybe been living together for a while and may not need as many household items as wedding gifts.
Finally, be flexible. You can save money by purchasing a last-minute honeymoon trip package if you’re not set on a specific place. Or, hold off and travel in the off-season. Most of all, remember. It matters less where you go and more that you are together.
